JOPLIN, Mo (WKOW) -- Several groups from Wisconsin spent the weekend in Joplin helping people clean up after the tornado.
A group of friends from Edgerton and Milton traveled to Joplin, and have done everything from clearing yards to buying a generator for a family without electricity.
"There are thousands of volunteers," said Phill Klamm, who traveled from Edgerton to help in Joplin. "There's stuff to do literally for everyone. I saw someone in a wheelchair sorting out clothes at the church."
Klamm and his friends from Edgerton and Milton took more than 800 care packages complete with basics such as toothpaste, shampoo and washcloths.
They also collected donations to pay for gift cards for families in need in Joplin.
