ROSHOLT (WKOW)-- Rescue dogs played a pivotal role in the search for survivors in Joplin.
One of the dog teams comes from Wisconsin.
Dennis Schenk and his dog, Beck, from Rosholt, near Stevens Point, spent three days in Joplin.
They worked 12 and 13 hours days, checking and clearing lakes and ponds.
Schenk said he was impressed by the strength of the people in Joplin.
"There wasn't a person I came across, a resident that I came across, that didn't have a positive attitude," said Schenk.
Schenk and Beck work with the non-profit Illinois-Wisconsin Search and Rescue Dogs, which sent several teams to Joplin.
