MENOMINEE (WKOW) -- Police have found the body of a man who has been missing for a week in the Menominee River along the Michigan-Wisconsin border.
WLUC-TV and the Daily Press of Escanaba report the body of 48-year-old Mark Geib of Wallace was found Thursday more than a mile downstream of where he fell into the river. He had been fishing from the shore May 26 about 5 miles north of Menominee.
An official search had been suspended. A couple that lives near the river spotted the body and alerted the Menominee County sheriff's department.
Menominee is located in the Upper Peninsula, about 120 miles south of Marquette.
