Metro bus driver cited in deadly crash

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Metro bus driver involved in a fatal crash with a pedestrian in downtown Madison has been issued a traffic citation.

Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain says following the police investigation, Debra Foster, 52, of Madison, received a ticket for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.

Madison Metro Transit spokesman Mick Rusch says Metro staff are still reviewing information related to the bus accident. Rusch says they won't be commenting further until its investigation is complete.

On June 22, Foster was driving on University Avenue at Lake Street when the Metro bus hit and killed Maureen Grant, 58, of New Glarus.

Grant was a longtime librarian at UW-Madison.
