Rhythm and Booms--Sneak Peak on WUW

MADISON (WKOW)  The Midwest's largest fireworks and Fourth of July Day celebration is only one day away!  To help you get ready for the big event, the Wake Up Wisconsin team headed out to Warner Park for a preview of the extravaganza.

This year, you can expect carnival rides, food, entertainment, and of course fireworks!  Here's the quick and easy rundown of the day's events.  You can attend and register for the Run to the Rhythm 5K at 9am in the morning.  Get their early to register and find parking.  Then at 10am, you can enjoy a day of fun rides at the Carnival.  At noon, it's all about the kids as the Kids' Zone opens up for your little ones.  Starting at 2pm, it's all about the music and concerts on the Classic Hits Stage.  Acts include "Kind of a Big Deal" at 2pm, "Pink Houses" at 5pm, and Little Vite and the Torpedoes at 8pm.  Then, it's time to pick your spot and get ready for the fireworks display.  Fireworks kick off at 9:30pm and should last till around 10:05pm.

If you can't make it out to Warner Park to see the fireworks in person, you can watch them on wkow.com.  We will be live streaming the fireworks starting at 9:30pm on our webchannel.  Then, you can watch the finale on 27 News at 10.  The finale will be the first thing you see, so be sure to tune in on time.

Rhythm and Booms is a free event to everyone, but keep in mind that in order to keep something like this going, donations are needed.  You will have the opportunity to donate to the event by buying some glow sticks while you're out at the Park.  Volunteers will be walking around with them, for you to buy.  Rhythm and Booms also supports various children's charities and since it's inception, the event has raised three quarters of a million dollars for kids.  If you can, please consider helping out the cause so we can all enjoy it for many more years to come.

Happy 4th of July, and we hope you'll join us for the full celebration of Rhythm and Booms.  You'll get to meet several members of the WKOW family if you come out.  Greg Jeschke, Elishah Oesch, John Beard, Evan Hutchinson, and Derek Staahl are all excited to meet the members of this great community.
