Update: Semi truck collides with car on Highway 26

ROCK CO (WKOW) --  A semi and mini van collision left Highway 26 in Milton Township closed much of Sunday afternoon.

Officials say it happened around 12:15 OM, when a van driven by Shayne Petted, 42, of Mukwonago, was west bound on Hwy N. Officials say she failed to yield at the stop sign and traveled into the path of a northbound semi truck and trailer.

The collision caused the semi to travel off the highway and the trailer and cab portion to catch on fire.

First units on the scene reported the semi was totally engulfed in flames but all occupants were out of the vehicles.

Petted was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was cited for failure to yield of way from stop sign, inattentive driving, and no proof on insurance. the semi driver was not hurt.

A portion of Hwy 26 was closed due to the collision.

Sheriff's Deputies will remain on scene until the semi is removed from the roadside.

One lane of Hwy 26 will be closed until the wreckage is removed.

ROCK CTY (WKOW) -- A traffic accident involving a semi that was on fire has the highway near Milton shutdown.

The incident occurred near County Rd N on Hwy 26. Rock County Sheriffs Department says the accident involved a car and semi.

One of the drivers is being taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

According to Rock County Sheriffs Department both lanes on Hwy 26 are closed. No detours have been suggested at this time.

The fire has been put out, but officers are still unsure about the removal of the semi.
