MARINETTE (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin high school where a student took his classroom hostage less than a year ago is getting more security cameras.
Three new cameras and five new monitors are being installed inside and outside of Marinette High School. That'll give the school about 30 security cameras; the new ones will cover some blind spots on the property.
"You can monitor who is coming in and out," said Amy Hansen with the Marinette School District. "It's really nice to be able to go back and verify details that you've gotten."
Last November, police say 15-year old Marinette student Sam Hengel took a classroom of students and teachers hostage before shooting and killing himself.
