PARIS (WKOW) -- Australian scientists say an eye test may detect signs of Alzheimer's disease.
The test uses photographs of the retina, the nerve layer in the eye. Doctors compared photos from 26 people with impairment and from 100 healthy people and found the thickness of certain blood vessels matched the amount of brain deposits that can signal Alzheimer's.
The test is experimental and researchers say needs more study.
Researchers unveiled their findings Sunday at an Alzheimer's conference in Paris.
