COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Medical Examiner has identified the man who died as a result of the heat.
Medical Examiner Angela Hinze identified the man as 65-year-old Dennis Langetieg of Fall River.
Authorities say on Monday, Langetieg was helping family members in Fountain Prairie with outdoor chores when he collapsed.
The autopsy shows Langetieg died from underlying medical conditions and associated extreme temperatures.
Langetieg is the first person to die due to heat related causes during the recent heat wave.

COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says it received a report of one confirmed heat-related death in Columbia County.
Health officials say the 65-year-old man died Monday in Fountain Prairie.
Columbia County Medical Examiner Angela Hinze told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the man had underlying medical conditions. Hinze says the man was outside helping a family member with housework when his condition got worse because of the heat.
Temperatures on Monday in the area were in the mid-90s with the heat index reaching as high as 110 degrees.
It's the first confirmed death related to this week's heat wave.
