MADISON (WKOW) -- On Wednesday, superintendent Tony Evers announced federal grants for 45 Wisconsin charter schools. 30 of those schools will open for the first time in the upcoming school year.
That includes the Badger Rock Middle School in Madison. It will receive a grant for $200,000.
Several other local schools will also get funding, including the Monona Grove Liberal Arts Charter School ($175,000) and the Verona Area International School ($150,000).
The Department of Public Instruction is handing out $9 million total in grants.
