DETROIT (WKOW) -- A big increase in sales means a big payday for General Motors.

The automaker reports its second quarter earnings nearly doubled to $2.5 billion. More than $1 billion is due to higher priced vehicles selling in North America.

It's the company's sixth straight quarterly profit.
