MADISON (WKOW) -- The two recall candidates in Senate District 12 report spending nearly a half a million dollars so far on the recall election.
Senator Jim Holperin, D-Conover, and his challenger Kim Simac, R-Eagle River, reported new fundraising and spending totals Monday with the state Government Accountability Board.
Holperin reported raising more than $494,000 through August 1 and spending $319,000. Simac, a tea party organizer, raised more than $221,000 during the same time and spent about $171,000.
Since July 5, the two candidates combined reported spending more than $214,000.
Reports were also due but not yet posted publicly Monday in the race between Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Wirch and Republican challenger Jonathan Steitz.
