MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Wisconsin students' average ACT scores increased this year, compared to 2010.
Students who graduated this spring scored a composite average of 22.2 out of 36. That's up from 21.1 in 2010. Seventy-one percent of graduates took the test.
The national average this year was 21.1. Among 27 states where at least 50 percent of students took the test, Wisconsin scored third behind Minnesota at 22.9 and Iowa at 22.3.
The independent, nonprofit ACT released the results Wednesday.
