MADISON (WKOW) -
Some parents are bracing themselves for an emotional morning next month, when they drop their children off at school for the first time.
And parents of younger children will join the line of parents dropping kids off at school, as the Madison Metro School District begins its four-year-old kindergarten program.
Madison College Children's Center Director, Cigdem Udal, joined us on Wake Up Wisconsin Wednesday morning, to talk about the benefits of 4K and more importantly, how parents can make sure their children, whether four or five years old, are ready for their first day of school.
The MMSD school year begins next Thursday, September 1, but four-year-old kindergarten students do not start classes till September 6.
