WAUSAU (WKOW) -- Organizers of a Labor Day parade in Wausau say Republican lawmakers should not attend.
The Marathon County Central Labor Council says it does not want to invite elected officials who have "openly attacked workers' rights" or did nothing when state workers lost most rights to collectively bargain.
The Labor Council sponsors the parade planned for Monday, Sept. 5th. It includes about 30 unions from the Marathon County area.
Republican Rep. Sean Duffy's office got a notice from parade organizers this week that he would not be included in the parade. His chief of staff says the congressman was hoping differences would be set aside for the family-friendly event.
