WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and SportsTwo local teachers named "Teachers of the Year"

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Two of the best teachers in Wisconsin are working right here in the Madison area.

State school superintendent Tony Evers presented the Elementary Teacher of the Year award to Marsha Herman.  She's a kindergarten, first grade and learning disabilities teacher at Westside Elementary in Sun Prairie.

The other local Teacher of the Year award went to Kimberly Brown of Waubesa Intermediate School in McFarland.  She was named Special Services Teacher of the Year.

Both teachers also received $3,000 from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation.
