GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Being the defending Super Bowl champs has its perks and the Packers and their fans are getting some nice extras from the NFL.
Gameday Village is in Bart Starr Plaza near Lambeau Field. NFL sponsors advertise their products like pizzas, drinks and video games, which means fans can try it all out for free. They also have venues set up so fans can play trivia, throw footballs through tires and get autographs from famous players.
"It's kind of an introduction you know. [It's a] good time to walk around without so many people, find out what is going on, so it should be a lot of fun," said Packers fan Bruce Roehsner.
The Packers host the Saints to open the 2011 season Thursday night.
The Gameday Village area will be the scene of a big concert before the game. 40,000 people are expected for that, alone.
