Former Wisconsin state Sen. Ted Kanavas will serve as co-chair of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Wisconsin campaign, according to an announcement from the Romney camp.
This comes after Kanavas said last week he would not be running for the seat of retiring U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, citing a difficulty raising funds.
Romney said in a statement that Kanavas shares his goals for Wisconsin and the country, including helping small businesses grow and start hiring again.
Kanavas said in a statement that he supports Romney because of his job creation record in the public and private sector.
Kanavas served in the state Senate from 2001 to 2010.
