RICHMOND, Va. (WKOW) -- Herman Cain and Mitt Romney are the favorites among Virginia Republicans in a new statewide poll.
The Quinnipiac University Poll released Tuesday shows Cain and Romney each favored by 21 percent of Republicans surveyed.
Rick Perry has fallen from a clear lead at 25 percent in the same poll a month ago to 11 percent among 345 Republicans surveyed October 5-9. Cain surged from 6 percent in September. The margin of error among Republicans is plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.
In the overall poll of 1,495 registered voters, President Barack Obama's job approval remains low. The overall margin of error is plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
