MADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities say former state senator Randy Hopper (R-Fond du Lac) was arrested Sunday for drunk driving.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mark Strand says his agency got a cellphone call from a driver who reported Randy Hopper was all over the road on U.S. Highway 151 in the town of Taycheedah late Sunday afternoon.
Officials say Hopper pulled into a grocery store parking lot, where a deputy arrested him. He was released early Monday. Authorities have not released Hopper's blood alcohol levels.
Hopper, 45, lost his seat in an August recall election spurred by his support for Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law.
