Despite broken hand, Burnett stands out for Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- While Morgan Burnett isn't prone to bragging, there's one play that might make the Green Bay Packers' soft-spoken safety pat himself on the back: a one-handed interception while wearing a club on his broken right hand in Sunday's game at Minnesota.

Burnett broke his hand in practice last week and played Sunday's game against St. Louis with the hand wrapped up in a bulky club. He struggled early, allowing a big play when he missed a tackle. Burnett then settled down and played well for the remainder of the game.

Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers says Burnett is playing "extremely well," and has taken over some defensive signal-calling responsibilities in the wake of a season-ending neck injury to Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins.
