Brothers arrested for Troy Drive shooting

MADISON (WKOW) -- Police say they've arrested two brothers in connection with the deadly shooting on Troy Drive last week.

Dreyon James, 19, and Levante James, 19, are now in police custody. Dreyon James faces a charge of first degree recklessly endangering safety. Levante James will likely be charged for violating his probation.

Police say a third person was detained and was interviewed and released.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Troy Drive late Thursday night on reports of shots being fired. One person was found dead and another had superficial gunshot wounds. The Dane County Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as 20-year-old Jonathan TeAndre Wilson.

Police say the shooting involved two groups with gang ties, and it involved some type of ongoing dispute.  Officers say it was not a random act of violence.

The police department says it will be working with neighborhood stakeholders, providing extra police attention to the Vera/Troy and surrounding area as officials continue their investigation.
