MADISON (WKOW) -- The Watertown girls volleyball team got past De Pere in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 state tournament in Green Bay. The Lady Goslings won the first set 25-21 and the third and fourth 25-21 and 25-17 respectively, winning the match 3-1. Katie Stadick led Watertown with 23 kills and Genelle McFarland had 16. Watertown faces Burlington Friday night at 7pm.
Verona entered the state tournament a perfect 42-0, but fell in the quarterfinals 3-2 to Divine Savior. The Lady Wildcats won the first set 25-19, but dropped the next two sets and the fifth set 15-12. Divine Savior's Jillian Brauer led the match with 23 kills, while Verona's Maggie Carter had 17.
In Division 3 Southwestern faces Oostburg at 1 p.m. Friday.
