MADISON (WKOW) -- Details from Wisconsin's new teacher evaluation system were released Monday.
The Department of Public Instruction will consider both student and teacher performance when evaluating teacher effectiveness.
The new system has been in the works for nearly a year. The DPI plans to gather more feedback on the program and begin a limited implementation of the system over the next two years.
It will take effect statewide starting with the 2014 school year.
Student performance measures will be certain test scores and benchmark achievements like reading goals.
Teacher performance measures will include collaboration, lesson plans and classroom organization.
