MADISON (WKOW) -- Divers from across the state gathered at the UW Natatorium on Saturday for the Division 1 girls state swimming and diving championship.
Racine Park senior Rachel Margis finished first, following a fifth-place finish in 2010.
Madison West's Mara Rosenstock finished 4th and Kayley Alioto of Madison Memorial finished 11th.
The swimming competition followed later Saturday afternoon, and the state championship came down to the final relay.
Waukesha South/Mukwonago was down six points, but the team won the 400-yard freestyle relay, edging Arrowhead for the state title by just two points.
The top local team was Madison Memorial, who finished in third, and Middleton took fourth place.
