MADISON (WKOW) -- Former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson plans to kick off his U.S. Senate campaign on December 1.
In an email to supporters, Thompson said the kickoff event will take place at Weldall Manufacturing in Waukesha.
Thompson is running for retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl's seat. Also running on the Republican side is former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann and state Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald. State Sen. Frank Lasee and businessman Eric Hovde are among those considering getting into the race as well.
U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin is the only Democratic candidate to announce she'll run for Kohl's seat.
