MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison police official said reports on a man's alleged destruction of a recall petition will go to the Dane County district attorney this week.
Madison police spokesperson Joel DeSpain said last Thursday, a man on Midvale Boulevard pulled over as if he was going to sign a petition to recall Governor Scott Walker, but instead ripped up the petition.
State officials said destruction of a recall petition of signatures is a felony crime.
Sources confirmed for 27 News a person-of-interest in the case is a 33-year old Darlington man with no listed political ties. The man has not returned repeated phone calls from 27 News seeking comment.
