MADISON, Wis. (WKOW-TV) -- Jared Berggren scored a career-high 21 points and Wisconsin again used a suffocating defense to pave the way to an easy win, beating Missouri-Kansas City 77-31 Tuesday night.

The Badgers (4-0) came into the game giving up an NCAA-best 35 points a game while allowing their opponents to shoot just 28 percent, and the Kangaroos (1-4) were held under both marks. They shot only 21 percent.

Wisconsin reeled off an 18-2 run over a 9-minute stretch in the first half and fot punctuated by 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions by Mike Bruesewitz.

Berggren then completed a three-point play early in the second half that pushed Wisconsin's lead to 52-21, and the Kangaroos continued to fall further behind the rest of the way.

Trinity Hall and Reggie Chamberlain led Missouri-Kansas City with seven points apiece.
