Provo, Utah (WKOW-TV) -
The Badger women's basketball team fell for the 4th straight time 77-59 against BYU in Provo, Utah. Taylor Wurtz finished the night with 18 points, scoring 15 in the second half. The Badgers actually outrebound BYU 31-29. But BYU's 46 first half points were the most by a UW opponent this year. Four BYU players finished with double-digit points. Wisconsin shot 59.1% in the first half but just 26.9% in the second half. BYU committed just 10 turnovers. The Badgers had 19.
Wisconsin head coach Bobbie Kelsey:
"The game was frustrating because we are not scoring and when the other team is scoring, scoring, scoring, you shut down their best player and maybe one or two of the other ones. They (BYU) are doing what I would like for us to do. When our best player is struggling and can't score, we have other people step up.
"We can't hit shots right now and I am not sure why. We are getting layups; we are just not making them. We've just got to concentrate and knock them down.
"We are getting the open looks, we are just no knocking them down and that hurts you when the other team is hitting their shots. We got to the free throw line and hit those, but you've got to score in the live action. We outrebounded them again. We are doing some good things; it's just not enough right now."
