MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin (7-8-1, 4-7-1 WCHA) completed its second sweep of the season with a 5-2 victory over Mercyhurst (6-7-1, 5-1-1 Atlantic Hockey) on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
* Senior defenseman Eric Springer (Wrightstown, Wis.) scored his second career goal, breaking a 61-game drought. It was the game-winning goal.
* Sophomore forward Mark Zengerle (Rochester, N.Y.) extended his scoring streak to 15 games with a three-assist night. He has seven goals and 25 points during the streak, including a goal and seven assists this weekend.
* Junior defenseman Justin Schultz (West Kelowna, British Columbia) scored his seventh goal of the season and added two assists for a seven-point weekend.
* Frosh goalie Landon Peterson (Oregon, Wis.) made 25 saves to improve to 2-5-0 on the season.
*Badgers went 2-for-6 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
