MADISON (WKOW) -- When Wisconsin military personnel based outside the state come home for the holidays, they can sign recall petitions.
A spokesman for the state Government Accountability Board says military personnel can sign if they're an eligible voter and list their last Wisconsin address on the petition. Under state law, if someone leaves Wisconsin to serve their country, they maintain their resident status.
Democrats and their allies need to collect more than 540,000 signatures by mid-January to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker and force an election.
