Montee Ball climbing the ranks in Heisman talk

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Badgers football team climbed one spot to No. 15 in the BCS standings after Saturday's 45-7 drubbing of Penn State. Meanwhile, Montee Ball is climbing the ranks in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

It's no secret Ball has rolled right into the history books with his 34 touchdowns so far this season. Only Barry Sanders has more with 39.

But Ball also laid claim to another NCAA record on Saturday by scoring two or more touchdowns in 12 straight games.

The junior running back admits he's a little bothered by the fact that his name is just starting to pop up in the Heisman talks.

"A little bit... a little bit, because I feel like I'm working really hard but it's just an award. If I don't get mentioned in it or anything, I won't feel bad about it because everything happens for a reason, so that's my approach on it," said Ball. "I mean, it's more than an award but after the Ohio State game, I told myself that everything happens for a reason so I'm telling myself that for the Heisman and Doak Walker and all that stuff."
