WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and SportsWIAA basketball tournaments likely to leave Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- The WIAA state boys and girls basketball tournaments could be moving out of Madison in the near future because of hockey scheduling conflicts coming in 2014.

The new Big Ten hockey conference starts in two years, which means the Kohl Center would belong to the Badgers if they were to host the Big Ten tournament at the same time as the WIAA basketball tournaments.

The Resch Center in Green Bay made a formal proposal today to play host instead, beginning in March of 2014.
