MADISON (WKOW) -- With more than a month before they're due, state election officials are preparing for the day when recall signatures will be turned in. They say they need more time and more help.
The petitions are due January 17.
Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy says he expects it will take 60 days rather than 31 days to review the petitions and consider challenges.
Kennedy says he also expects to hire 50 temporary workers to help tally signatures.
Recall petitions are being circulated against Governor Scott Walker, Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, and four Republican state senators.
