MADISON (WKOW)-- One state lawmaker wants to make signing a recall petition more than once, a felony.
Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald introduced a bill that would make that a crime.
He said the bill reflects an underlying frustration that the Government Accountability Board does not appear to be as focused on finding fraud as he would like.
Fitzgerald even suggested the board may need to be dissolved.
He said, "I've been traveling the state and a lot of people are starting to lose confidence in the GAB. They have a different answer for a different day on a lot of these issues and you know this is something that we possibly have to look at again, readdressing what the GAB has to do and what their function is."
Fitzgerald said his bill won't be voted on until next month at the earliest, so it would not affect this round of recalls.
