DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- Local leaders are betting on the Badgers to win the Rose Bowl.

Mayor Paul Soglin and the mayor of Eugene, Oregon, Kitty Piercy, have a wager on the outcome.  The two agreed to provide $500 to be used for tools for Habitat for Humanity organizations in either Madison or Eugene.

Soglin and Piercy will raise the money privately and no city funds will be involved.

Dane County Board of Supervisors Scott McDonell and John Hendrick have also started a friendly wager with their counterparts in Lane County, Oregon, and Board of Commissioners Faye Stewart and Sid Leiken.

"Both teams have a great deal to be proud of and we're looking forward to an exciting game," said Hendrick.

The winner will receive bragging rights and a package of local goodies from the loser.

In addition, the losing team's local officials will wear the winning team's gear during the next public meeting following the game.
