MADISON (WKOW) -- The group behind a proposed charter school says it will ask the Madison School Board to vote again next month.
The board would consider a motion to allow Madison Prep to open in the fall of 2013, a year later than planned.
In December, the board voted 5-2 against opening Madison Prep this fall.
Members of the Urban League of Greater Madison say they'll keep bringing up the issue until it passes.
"That is because we cannot wait," said Laura DeRoche-Perez of the Urban League. "It is a public problem, the achievement gap," she said. "It needs a public solution; we'll do what we need to in the meantime, but we'll go back as many times as we need to."
The Urban League says three school board members support the motion to open Madison prep.
