NEW YORK (WKOW) -- BMW is recalling about 90,000 Mini Coopers due to a possible fire hazard.
The recall, which is expected to start next month, involves certain Mini Cooper Clubman vehicles and Mini Cooper convertibles from 2006 to 2011.
The problem is a faulty circuit board in a water pump. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the device can malfunction, overheat and cause a fire.
BMW will let owners know which cars are affected by the recall. Dealers should be able to replace the water pump for free.
