MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting an event for "Gulf War Veterans Illnesses Recognition Day" on Tuesday.
The event is being held at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum on Mifflin Street, across from the State Capitol at 11 a.m.
Speakers include: Veterans Department Secretary John Socos; State Representative Steve Nass, a Persian Gulf War veteran; and Gulf War era veteran Trevor Nagle. They will discuss workforce reintegration by military veterans following extended combat deployments.
Wisconsin was the first state in the nation to designate an annual observance, starting in 2006.
