MADISON (WKOW) -- Gov. Scott Walker says he thinks recall organizers have enough valid signatures to force an election, which he hopes happens soon.
Walker told The Associated Press Wednesday that he always thought the petition circulators would get the 540,000 signatures they need, and there won't be enough invalid signatures to stop the election. About 1 million signatures were turned in Tuesday.
Democrats say Walker wants to delay the possible election for as long as possible, but Walker says he wants the election to happen soon. Walker believes he'll win no matter who becomes his Democratic opponent.
