Wisconsin recall webcam so boring it's mesmerizing
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Government Accountability Board webcam depicting a live feed of the petition review process online is attracting tens of thousands of viewers.
The video features a live look at the secret location where petitions to recall Gov. Scott Walker and five other Republicans are being processed. The video generally shows bureaucrats shuffling around a nondescript room feeding papers into a scanner.
Recall organizers say they submitted nearly 2 million signatures. All of them need to be verified.
The webcam was set up to provide transparency in the process. Officials say the site has attracted more than 29,000 visitors. It has also inspired a Twitter account with humorous comments about the mundane process of scanning 300,000 pages of signatures.
