Janesville police search for robbery suspect

JANESVILLE (WKOW) - Police are trying to find suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery and an armed robbery.

On Saturday about 7:10 p.m., Janesville Police officers responded to an attempted armed robbery at a Pizza Hut located on the 3000 block of E. Milwaukee Street.

The female clerk said a male came into the store with his hand near his waistband and wanted money.  The suspect left without any money.

The suspect was described as a white male, light blue sweatshirt, wearing dirty torn gloves, a large knit stocking hat pulled over his face with eyes cut out and he was about 4'9" to 5'0" tall.

About one hour after the Pizza Hut attempted armed robbery, the Janesville Police officers responded to an armed robbery at a Family Dollar located on S Harmony Drive.

The suspect showed that he had a handgun and wanted money.  He did get away with an unknown amount of money and headed east bound on foot.

The suspect was described as a white male, early 20's, slender build, about 170 pounds and 5'1"to 5'8" tall.  He was wearing a large dark gray and black coat, baggy cargo style jeans with silver stitching and buttons on the back, a sleeves ski mask with vertical eye holes and gray ski gloves.  The ski mask was pulled down to cover his face.

Nobody was injured during these incidents.
