WKOW 27: Madison, WI Breaking News, Weather and SportsMMSD celebrating 100 years of library media service

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Metro Schools are celebrating 100 years of library media service on Friday.

The first formally organized library program was established in Central High school under the supervision of a professional librarian during the 1911-1912 school year.

There are now certified library media specialists in 28 MMSD schools and three district libraries.

Friday's celebration is at 12:30 p.m. at the Fitchburg Library.
