APPELTON (WKOW)-- You don't have to be a grown-up to make a difference in the world of politics. A Wisconsin teenager is doing his part, and he can't even vote yet.
Fourteen-year-old Benji Backer spends almost 25 hours a week at the Appleton Walker Victory Center.
The eighth grader says he took the classes to verify recall signatures, but he can't because he is not old enough.
Benji already has quite the resume, having worked on campaigns for U.S. Congressman Reid Ribble, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and state Senator Rob Cowles.
"Some days were 13 hour days, and I got all my homework done, but yeah I was pretty busy, said Benji. "A lot of kids think I'm kind of weird for doing it, but I think it's fun and exciting."
Benji says he is not sure if politics are in his future, but he would like to have a family and get his kids to college first.
