TAMPA, Fla. (WKOW) --It didn't take long after the polls closed in Florida for Mitt Romney to be declared the winner.
Romney took nearly 50 percent of the vote, easily outpacing Newt Gingrich, who finished in second with just over 30 percent.
When addressing his supporters in Tampa, Romney had a message for Democrats.
"They like to comfort themselves with the thought that a competitive campaign will leave us divided and weak. But I've got news for them, a divided primary does not divide us it prepares us. We will win."
Rick Santorum and Ron Paul came in third and fourth respectively.
Next up, Nevada. The state holds its caucuses on Saturday.
