Model cities on display at Monona Terrace

MADISON (WKOW) -- The work of some future architects will be on display Saturday at Monona Terrace.

Local elementary school kids built model cities as part of the Terrace Town program.

The kids started working on their cities in October. With the help of local architects and planners, the students learned how to design their cities using recyclable materials

"We think it's a great way for them to think about why their communities look the way they do, what thought goes into the buildings and architecture and why are parks and buildings located where they are in a city," said Heather Sabin, tourism Coordinator at Monona Terrace.

You can see the cities at Monona Terrace on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is free.
