MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office has released more information about a man they say tried to entice a child to get into his vehicle on Monday.

Officers released a sketch of the suspect Tuesday afternoon.

They say they believe the man was driving a small, white SUV that is similar to a Toyota Rav4.  The SUV has a standard Wisconsin license plate and does not have a spare tire on the back.

Deputies say the suspect was wearing a distinctive winter hat that was green with red triangular patches loosely sewn around it.  It was described a "elf-like."  The suspect had gray hair coming out of the hat.  He was unshaven, but did not have a full beard.

Anyone with information on the identity of this person is asked to call the tip line at (608) 284-6900.

Deputies believe the man tried to get a 12-year-old girl to get into his vehicle around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning along Nesbitt Road.

The girl's school bus arrived at the same time and she was able to run safely to the bus.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible case of child enticement.

It was reported Monday morning on the 6400 block of Nesbitt Road in the town of Verona.

Sheriff's officials say at approximately 9:35 am, a 12-year-old female was walking to her bus stop on Nesbitt Road, toward Cortina Drive, when a four-door white SUV drove past her.  The SUV then made a U-turn and came back toward the girl.  The driver of the SUV is described as a white male in his 50's, with white hair.  He was wearing a green and gold Packer jacket and a green "elf-like" winter hat.  His appearance was also described as "scruffy."

The man approached the girl in his vehicle, rolled down the passenger side window and asked if she wanted a ride.  He then became more verbally aggressive and ordered her into the vehicle.  At about the same time, the girl's school bus was arriving at her stop and she was able to run safely to the bus.

Sheriff's Office investigators are asking for anyone who may have information on the incident or the suspect to call the tip line at (608) 284-6900.
