MADISON (WKOW)--Free money is available to help students pay for college, but you have to go through the official process to get it.
That process starts will filling out a crucial form: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
Once that form is filled out and turned in, it opens the door to all types of financial aid, including free money for college in the form of grants, scholarships, and low-interest student loans.
Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation is sponsoring nearly 60 FAFSA Week workshops and 29 College Goal Wisconsin events on February 13-19.
In Madison, a FAFSA workshop will be held February 14 at 10 a.m. at Madison West High School, 30 Ash St.
