MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's superintendent talks with Wake Up Wisconsin anchor Dani Maxwell about his proposal to improve schools.
Dr. Dan Nerad stopped by 27 News Thursday morning with more about his plan. Earlier in the week, he had unveiled his ideas to close the achievement gap. The Urban League of Greater Madison says nearly 60% of African Americans and 50% of Latino high school students have a GPA below 2.0.
Dr. Nerad says some of his ideas to improve grades include a longer school day, more classes to prepare students for life after high school, and parental involvement. But he wants to hear from the public about their ideas. You can sign up for a listening session by clicking here.
