MADISON (WKOW) – Madison police are reviewing surveillance video to try to identify the man accused of punching a teen in the face at Madison West High School after he refused to give them his iPod Thursday evening.
Police say a 14-year-old walked to the Ash Street side of West High School wearing his ear buds from his iPod at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday. That's when a man, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a black book bag, approached the victim from behind. The victim says the suspect grabbed him and then punched the victim in the face after he refused to give up his iPod.
The victim yelled for help after ending up in the fetal position on the floor of the school. Police say two suspects ran out of the school shortly before security officers arrived to help the victim. The victim says he had never seen the two suspects in the past.
The victim did not sustain any significant injuries. The case is still under investigation and police are reviewing surveillance video to try to identify the suspects. They have been described as 14-17 years old, 5'8" - 5'9", 175-200 lbs. The first suspect wore a white hoodie, black bookbag and black pants. The second victim wore a black sweatshirt and dark pants.
